PROPERTY Description
Log cabin features fantastic views, with privacy on a serene mountain side. Be lulled to sleep by the cool wispy mountain breezes and the sounds of the river down below. On the covered back porch, relax in several log rockers and watch the clouds float by and the ever changing skyline of the Smokies. B-B-Q your catch of the day or your favorite meat on the grilll; or enjoy picnic on on the Amish picnic table on the back porch. Hikes up and down the mountain display laurel, wildflowers, blue & black berries private road. We regularly seen flocks of wild turkey, deer, rabbits & other wild life.
Plenty of comfy furniture to laze away a rainy day & listen for the dramatic raining sounds over the metal roof on the big rocking porch. Cozy up in front of the stone fireplace. 2-Satellite TVs with DVD & VHS with library of kid-friendly movies. We have just over 1 gigabyte of data available per night of stay; and we can get more upon request for small fee.
Just down the scenic 4 mile road past two amazing waterfalls (pictured below) is the launch site for rafting the Nantahala. Just 4 miles the other direction is the beautiful Nantahala Lake. Three rafting companies conveniently close to drive. NOC approximately 6 miles from river launch site. **Note, the steep inclines on our gravel, mountain road were just recently paved which should make our road passable by any 4-6 cylinder vehicle.

This is a magical spot. The view is top notch! The drive up, following along the Natahala, was such a pleasant surprise too! The location is very convenient to the Natahala Lake (rent a boat at Lake's End Marina!), Wayah Lookout, the Nantahala Outdoor Center, Bryson city (shopping, restaurants and waterfalls) and a short hourish drive to Maggie Valley and Waynesville (super cute!!!). We were able to take the gravel road up just fine in a Kia Soul and a Mini Cooper. That was the only thing we were worried about when booking this cabin because of a few reviews saying it was slightly hard to drive up...but it worked out fine in low gear and taking it at a consistent speed. We would recommend this cabin to anyone! The house is fabulously stocked (most stocked VRBO we've ever booked). They have a spiralizer and waffle maker for crying out loud! 😉 Thanks to the great correspondence from Judy, the owner! Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin with us!!!Jacqueline V.
