Are you ready to get MAROONED on beautiful Hatteras Island!? Enjoy the NEW king bed this year. Why not come down in the shoulder spring or fall season and enjoy reduced rates and lovely temps? This is a great family-friendly home or ideal location as a getaway for couples or friends. Our home is located on a quiet cul de sac in the development of Kinnakeet Shores in Avon . Within 5-10 min. you will be walking up the steps to the dune feeling the sand between your toes! If you're in the mood for a dip in the pool, take a 7-10 minute stroll down the road within the development and enjoy the gorgeous community pool complete with baby pool, many lounge chairs, shaded areas and tables to enjoy a poolside picnic or snack. The home is newly decorated with comfy beach furnishings and brand new bedding. Guests will love having their own bathroom in each of the four bedrooms! (1K,1Q, 1Q with a twin bunk on top, and the last bedroom has 1 set of twin beds, ) Sleeps 9 in all.
We have wifi throughout the home and a total of 4 new smart TV's for 2018! The top level features a Great Room/Dining Area/Kitchen with vaulted ceilings. You can prepare your meals and serve your guests from the huge granite covered island. We have a dvd player with several movies for your use as well as wifi and new smart TV in the living room. Depending on the time of day, choose the partially shaded front deck to sit at the picnic table or adirondack chairs with a cool beverage or head to the open back deck for star gazing and experience the awesome sunsets looking toward the sound or enjoy partial ocean views. The dining table seats 6 along with 3 comfy stools at the bar area. Pull up chairs are within easy reach for the table as well. A toddler seat and high chair are stored in the bedroom if needed. There is a dishwasher, microwave, oven and large stainless refrigerator featuring filtered water and ice on the outside door. Plenty of dishes, pots, pans, silverware, etc. are stocked in the kitchen so you never have to leave home! The top floor includes one Master bedroom with a Queen bed and a new smart t.v. A half bath completes the top floor layout. On the middle level, you will have access to a washer/dryer along with a cozy area to read or take a break. Three more bedrooms with private bathrooms (one set of twins, a queen with twin bunk on top and another King room) complete the second floor. There is an outdoor deck off this level leading you onto a large covered deck for additional shade. Or perhaps, you'd like to take a snooze on the North Carolina hammock nestled under the trees outdoors? Enjoy a refreshing outdoor shower under the house off the lower porch area. There is a Weber charcoal grill located under the house for your use as well. Several beach chairs and boogie boards are stored near the entry steps which you are welcome to use. We have added a wagon for guests to transport beach or pool equipment.
Bed linens are provided. Guests bring their own towels (to keep rental price down) or rent from Shore Details.

Beautiful, Clean Home - Short walk or drive to the beach
Upon arriving on the property, we could immediately tell it was a well taken care of home. The outdoor shower and hose made for easy clean up of children, toys, chairs, etc. They also had quite a bit of chairs as well as a beach wagon in case any one needed extras of these items. Inside the home, everything was very clean and it felt spacious, even with extended family and children everywhere! The rooms were a good size and we loved that they each had their own bathroom. There was quite a bit of baby friendly items available including a high chair, pack n play, and a few baby gates. We had brought our own, but it was nice that this was an option. Wifi worked well and the kitchen was stocked with everything we could need to make large family meals. The beach takes about 7 minutes to walk to, but, since we had little children, we mostly had one person drop us off in a truck or we could occasionally find parking near the beach entrance. The food lion was literally right outside the subdivision, which made for some convenient food runs. And the community pool was great! It was larger than I had imagined and had nice tables for eating meals. The best part of our whole experience was working with the owner. Home away provided us her contact information and whenever I had a question, she was very quick to respond and very helpful. It never seemed like we were a bother even if the questions were very simple. This made our whole vacation a breeze as staying in a new place can be an adjustment.
