Great time, beautiful view but...
Our rental wasn't quite what we wanted our vacation rental to be, but we were warned prior that our rental wasn't the Taj Ma Hal and they were right. We were disappointed that there was a lack of kitchen equipment such as oven pans. Overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely go back to Ocean Isle.Dishpan hands!
As I've rented years and years from Sloane(at the Dunes and others), I expected the rental to be 5-stars. However, it was obvious on arrival that there was a problem with the kitchen floor in the sink/dishwasher/range area(uneven/curling/somewhat spongy flooring). This, in itself, was tolerable. However, after "running' the dishwasher late in the evening (after I had prepared and enjoyed a lovely dinner with our family) we were faced the next morning with a dishwasher of still dirty dishes with water standing in the bottom of the dishwasher. After trying to restart the dishwasher, it was obvious the water was flowing in but nothing else was working. A call for service rendered visits on two occasions. We were advised the dishwasher wasn't broken but the floor had swollen so much under it from water damage that we could not use the dishwasher. Enough said, we don't hand wash dishes at home...so, we certainly didn't expect this on our vacation. Needless to say, we were disgruntled when advised there would be no adjustments to the rental rates even tho we spent valuable vacation time washing dishes...not to mention, the damage to my day old manicure!!! Oib is a favorite...am unsure if we'll rent thru Sloane again due to their unsatisfactory response to our inconveniences(eating our more than planned, etc)Contact Owner
