PROPERTY Description

Step inside, relax, and enjoy your stay. This new, custom log home was built with the intention of offering a private, serene location to enjoy with family and friends and in which to create lasting memories. No detail has been overlooked to help you feel at home and to ensure your first stay will not be your last.

You will immediately feel your tension release as you drink in the views from inside or outside of the home. Each oversized window or two large decks features breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. Please be on the lookout for the two hawks circling the property after which we derived our name.

This home features many upgrades including granite countertops throughout, tiled-floor baths, custom cabinetry and stonework, a gas burning fireplace, Wifi internet, surround sound stereo, and tastefully designed decor chosen to create an ambiance of comfort and relaxation.

The heart of the home, the kitchen, is complete with an oversized granite-topped island surrounded with stonework, custom carved Hickory wood cabinetry and winerack, tile flooring, stainless steel refrigerator with icemaker and water filter, dishwasher, flat-top stove, oven, Cuisinart coffee maker, toaster and many cooking items, dishes, and utensils needed to make a memorable meal.

Step into the greatroom off of the kitchen to enjoy your view from the two-story panoramic windows. This room features vaulted ceilings, a gas-burning fireplace to warm up to on chilly nights as well as a flat screened tv should you want to feel connected to the outside world. Or, step out of this room onto the large three sided deck. Feel free to use the telescope for sky gazing or the binoculars for spotting birds and wildlife. On this deck you will find a large Jacuzzi with color changing lights, surrounding speakers, robe hooks, and breathtaking views. There is also a gas grill for cookouts and four rockers in which to relax and share stories.

There are three floors in the home with room to spread out on each. No matter which bedroom you choose, each offers a panoramic view of the sunrise peaking over the mountains in the morning. What a great way to start the day!

The main floor master bedroom features a queen custom Alpine wood bed from Colorado. The room contains collectibles from the owner's travels to Norway and offers a Scandinavian feel. The upper master features a queen wrought iron and wood bed offering a truly lodge-like feel. This room is very spacious and could easily hold a crib as well. The upper bunk room is built with fun in mind! There is a bunk bed and single bed. Again, each of these three single beds will have a gorgeous view of the mountains out of the oversized window. The basement level bedroom contains a queen bed, private tile-floored bathroom, large closet, and large window. Outside of this bedroom is the gameroom. This is where a fun time is to be had by kids of all ages! Featuring a competition-sized ping pong table, a Connelly professional 8x4 pool table, dart board, flat screen tv, Wii, and board games. This room contains a comfortable sofa that converts into a double bed. Just outside of this spacious, tile-floored game room is another three-sided deck on which to relax and enjoy the views from its wooden rockers. There you will also find the wood pile to use in the log fire pit just down from this deck. Complete with wooden Aderondack chairs and skewers, we hope you will enjoy roasting marshmallows and hot dogs or just breathing in the crisp mountain air while listening to the crackling fire, rustling leaves, or chirping crickets.

This mountain top property is situated on 2.5 wooded acres and surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Its' circular driveway provides easy access to and from the home. Depending on the rain fall in the area, you might hear the small bubbling creek on the property. The landscape contains many native flowering shrubs, and trees, oversized rocks, as well as birds and wildlife.

WINTER WARNING:

Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather this time of year. The gravel roads on the mountain are private, and are not always cleared immediately after snow or ice storms. If you cannot make it due to weather issues, we will give you a credit for another stay.

Beautiful view and incredible cabin!
We loved Hawk’s View! Beautiful view and incredible cabin with hot tub, plenty of places to sleep, indoor fireplace, outdoor fire pit and more. Great hospitality—found s’mores supplies and a bottle of wine on the counter when we arrived as well as robes for each of us with Godiva chocolate! It was an incredibly relaxing weekend for us.

Amazing!
Amazing hosts. Great communication. The cabin was thoughtfully decorated and clean. Very secluded and just beautiful. Felt very welcomed! A bottle of wine and s’mores waiting when we got there. Amazing sunrise every morning. Nicest couple and very understanding when my son accident broke a pool stick. You will have everything you need there. We would love to visit again. The drive up was steep but fun for us and definitely worth it for the view. Our gps worked fine but the written directions were great. Lots to do in the area and the rental came with great recommendations of things to do in the area. Game room was well stocked. You will not regret renting this beautiful cabin.

Amazing views!!!
We loved our stay at this property. There were 5 of us - ages ranging from 12 to 80. The home is immacuately clean and comfortable. Views are stunning from the minute you walk in the door. The kids loved the game room and the place large enough we were not on top of each other. A welcome basket of smore's fixings were waiting for us and we made use of them at the fabulous fire pit area. The weather was cool and rainy for most of our stay so we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. The drive up/down was a bit daunting in our van - especially given the rain. We ran in to no problems but I would definately have a 4WD next time just for my own piece of mind. The owners provided thorough information on the house and precise directions to the property, along area information and helpful hints such as - it's a good idea to stop at grocery store prior to arrival. They answered emails right away and provided phone numbers in case there were problems. I highly recommend for a getaway - very quiet and relaxing.

Family Fun
Great house for families! Three different households together for a week can be difficult but this house is perfect. Separate space and together space (could not ask for more). Enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Even the summer lightening storms were beyond compare. Owners truly thought of everything!

Best View Ever
My family stayed for a week, and we wished we could have stayed longer. The house is beautiful and the view is amazing. This house is very clean and has everything you need. We spent our entire first day of vacation at the cabin. The drive up is a little difficult so I recommend a 4 wheel drive car, but it's easy for an experienced driver. We rented a minivan for the trip, but I traded it the following day for an all wheel drive Subaru Outback. The drive was fun after that. Take the boat tour at Lake Lure and go zip-lining at Canopy Ridge Farm. Both are nearby. We will definitely be back!

Beautiul home, majestic views and great owners to work with
The cabin was just as advertised with beautiful accommodations and awesome views. The owners were fantastic to work with and very prompt with answering our questions. The cabin had everything one would want....beautiful interior, majestic views, was clean throughout, hot tub, pool table, dart board and ping pong--- oh a super fire pit. The fact that we had perfect weather contributed to the great experience. There was a gas grill to cook on, and it looked brand new...a testament to cleaning and preparing the cabin for us. it is a ways into Lake Lure to stock up with provisions so make your trips into Lake Lure count... Going in April was great in that the weather was perfect and the "crowds" that you see in the summer, were non-existent... One thing that I feel impelled to bring up is the road up to the cabin and from the auto to the home was more than challenging. The owners made us aware of the road and provided us with excellent maps for going there in 4wd vehicles and non-4wd vehicles. Once there, we used the 4wd vehicle exclusively. There were four of us, all 70+ years of age with one (me) having only 60% strength on my right side due to back surgeries. I had to have assistance from two of my friends getting in and out of the car and getting to and from the cabin, as the steps are a combination of rock, gravel and sand and a steep walk from the car and driveway to the home. I could not have made it on my own. It was certainly not the wonderful hosts obligation to point this out to us. ...That's just the way it is. I should have asked but this certainly didn't detract from our vacation...I don't believe you will find better views or owners to work with. All in all, a great week. !!!!
